Mass Category Edit Plugin for WordPress

Too many categories to feed? Today I needed to quickly clean up the categories on this site because I had too many and they no longer reflect the direction the blog is going.

I found a little known, but very useful plugin for WordPress called “Batch Categories” by Roblog.

Very simply it allows you to filter any of your posts by category and either assign new ones, or remove old ones.

I blasted through all 50 of my posts in about 2 minutes and was done.  Without the plugin I’m guessing it would have taken me close to 30 minutes to do the same thing.

If you need to change categories (something that I wouldn’t recommend that you do too often), then check out this plugin. Even if you don’t have a lot of posts to manage, this is still a useful tool.
