How to get high quality videos on YouTube
Poor YouTube, first they got hammered because Google spent zillions on them and still hasn’t figured out how to monetize it. Then they got beat up because everything looks like you’re watching TV hung over.
Well, the second problem was easier to fix than the first one. They may never solve the first one, even though YouTube remains the number one video sharing site in the world (and the number two most visited website behind Yahoo.com, according to Alexa).
Anyway, if you want your videos to play on YouTube in high quality, there are a couple of very simple, but techie things you need to be aware of. First, you need to produce your video at a resolution of 480 pixels wide, by 360 pixels wide (or higher). That is the default player size on the YouTube screen.
The second thing that you need to do is make sure (and this is really important) is make sure that your video is originally recorded at 24 fps (frames per second) or higher. Usually you can check those settings in your camera.
Then, when you are in YouTube, you will have the option to view the clip in high quality. Note that it is NOT high definition, just high quality and it DOES look better - impaired hang-over vision cured!
Also, you can change the default settings in your YouTube account to always play videos in high quality, when available.
Here’s a video about how to do all of the above:

I like sharing videos | Oct 21, 2008 | Reply
Hi,
Video sharing is all the rage since a while now, and it does not seem to end. Everybody wants to share their videos, their passions and the things they like. There are so many sites around to publish videos on the web that it is sometimes hard to make a choice. We know some of the big players on the market like YouTube, Revver or Dailymotion, but there are so many others competing to be the number one, or targeting a specific audience, be it geographically (China, Japan, Turkey…), by language (German, Arabic, French…) or for the kind of content they focus on (cooking, planes, extreme sports…).
I have compiled a growing list of nearly 900 video sharing sites, video search engines, video download sites, and video publication and statistics online services that you can check at http://www.ilikesharingvideos.com
For each of them, you will get useful information such as their history, the country from which most of their visitors come, their niche, their rank, their latest news…
This site offers some other interesting features, like a forum about online videos, how to make money with your videos, how to create your own YouTube site, video contests, etc.
So if you are interested in video sharing or online video marketing, give an eye to this site, it worths it.
Cheers
