Firefox Browser Downloads Set New World Record

The world’s new favorite web browser is Firefox.

I use it as my default browser. In fact I’m using it right now to type out this post. It can do everything the Internet Explorer can do…and in most cases, it can do it better.

It never crashes on me, it loads extremely fast and has some very cool features like the ability to go portable on a USB key with all of your passwords so that you can surf the web from any PC and log into all your password protected sites without having to use or buy a software like Roboform.

The reason for the high volume of downloads is due largely to Firefox’s incredible popularity timed with the release of Version 3.

People from all over the world downloaded over 23 million installs of the new browser:

According to the Firefox website, the Guinness Book people are spending the next few days tallying up the results before making it official. Firefox is the internet’s new hero and Microsoft has to worried about this growing threat, given how important the browser is to so many things we do online.

The new Firefox works for both Mac and PC users.  It is available here.
